Inter Pipeline contributes $1 million to RESOLVE in support of the collaboration and Calgary Alpha House Society
From our 2016-2017 Report to Community.
When Inter Pipeline chooses an organization to partner with, they are “all in”, according to Michelle Goodkey, Manager of Aboriginal and Stakeholder Relations at Inter Pipeline. Not only has the company made a generous financial contribution of $1 million, they have also increased their impact by making donations in-kind and volunteering their time.
The company donated thousands of dollars’ worth of computer monitors and other valuable items to RESOLVE Partners which will benefit tenants, both directly and indirectly.
“We had a surplus of items as part of a recent purchase of a company,” Michelle says. “And we couldn’t think of a better home to put them to good use!”
Employees at Inter Pipeline volunteered with one of RESOLVE’s Partners in June 2017 to spruce up the outdoor spaces. “We wanted to give the tenants a place to enjoy the lovely Calgary summer,” Michelle says.
Inter Pipeline decided to designate $750,000 of their gift to Alpha House’s project for women experiencing homelessness and addictions. “We were very impressed with the program and the thoughtful plan to purchase an existing building and repurpose it,” Michelle says.
Inter Pipeline is committed to supporting organizations who care for the most vulnerable and under-served in their communities.
Michelle adds, “We identified RESOLVE as an initiative we wanted to support because of the important work they’re doing for the Calgary community.”
