One month to go of the RESOLVE Campaign

There is officially only one month left of RESOLVE , a first-of-its-kind collaborative Campaign, with nine social service agencies working together to raise capital to create urgently needed affordable rental housing with support services for up to 3,000 homeless and vulnerable Calgarians.

To date, RESOLVE has raised $68 million — enough to provide 1,712 people with a place to call home. While much progress has been made, the Campaign ends on March 31, 2018 and an additional $22 million is urgently needed to ensure that all projects reach completion.

The nine RESOLVE agencies are: Accessible Housing; Bishop O’Byrne Housing Association; Calgary Alpha House Society; Calgary Homeless Foundation; Calgary John Howard Society; Horizon Housing Society; Silvera for Seniors; The Mustard Seed; and Trinity Place Foundation of Alberta.

“We believe that every Calgarian deserves a place to call home, – but homelessness in our city is intensified by the critical shortage of affordable housing with support services,” says Alan Norris, Chairman and CEO of Brookfield Residential Properties and Chair of the RESOLVE Cabinet. “The need to increase the amount of affordable homes with support services in our city remains urgent.”

Generous donors to the Campaign have enabled RESOLVE’s progress thus far, with six new buildings opened; two mortgages retired; four new buildings under construction; eight shovel-ready projects with initial funding or financing to break ground; and three shovel-ready projects that still need funds to break ground.
