TD Bank Group announces “Leadership” gift to RESOLVE

New affordable housing options to assist vulnerable individuals and families will be available in Calgary thanks to TD Bank Group’s “Leadership” level gift to the RESOLVE Campaign. The gift is designated for Horizon Housing Society and will help fund the construction of a new 160-unit building.

“Helping to improve the communities where our customers and colleagues live and work is a commitment shared by everyone at TD,” said Bharat Masrani, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, TD. “We are proud to be a part of the RESOLVE Campaign to help ensure all Calgarians have a place to call home.”

Horizon Housing’s planned building is part of the RESOLVE Campaign to provide affordable and supported rental housing in Calgary, a first-in-Canada collaboration of nine homeless-serving agencies.

Executive Director of Horizon Housing, Kim O’Brien, says TD’s gift to RESOLVE is an example of community leadership. “This gift is a tangible commitment from TD to be a leading advocate for stronger communities. As a result, together we will help more people in need and Calgary will become a healthier, more vibrant city.”

“Thanks to the generosity of community leaders like TD, we’re well on the way to creating affordable and supported rental homes for 3,000 vulnerable and homeless Calgarians,” says Sheryl Barlage, Executive Director, RESOLVE Campaign. “To-date, we have raised enough money to provide 1,113 people with keys to a place to call home.”
