A message from Alan and Sheryl
We are sending this issue out today in recognition of Homeless Awareness Day.
Homelessness has many faces and can happen at any time. Many Calgarians are just one paycheque or health crisis away.
Be sure to check out our beautiful new website, designed to take its visitors through the many facets of the RESOLVE Campaign, what we are all about and who the great people who support it are.
In other news, we are excited to welcome Diana Krecsy to RESOLVE as the new President and CEO of the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF). Diana joined the CHF team in May 2014. She has more than 25 years of leadership experience and will play an integral part in helping to reach our overall Campaign goal of $120 million.
Happy birthday to both Accessible Housing and Trinity Place Foundation of Alberta! They each celebrate their 40th anniversaries this year. Be sure to visit their fantastic new websites as well.
Watch for our new billboards going up around Calgary – part of RESOLVE’s public awareness campaign. We owe Jim Pattison a huge thank you, as he generously provided outdoor advertising space in addition to his financial contribution to support each of our nine Partners.
The opening party for Columbus Place, an affordable housing property owned by Bishop O’Byrne Housing, took place on Oct. 3, 2014. The building is a mortgage retirement project in RESOLVE. The kick-off for Stepping Stone Manor – Cedarglen Living’s project with CHF and the first new RESOLVE build – was on April 28, 2014. Many RESOLVE stakeholders joined together to celebrate both events. Be sure to check out our event listings in the e-newsletter for more upcoming events.
We are excited to announce that, to date, we have raised enough money to provide 815 people with keys to a place to call home.
Thank you for your continued support of RESOLVE. Together we can make Calgary a better home for everyone by creating more affordable housing for vulnerable citizens.
