Canadian Natural kicks off RESOLVE’s final year with a $2 million gift

Canadian Natural has provided a significant push forward in the last year of the first-of-its-kind RESOLVE Campaign.

Canadian Natural, one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world, donated $2 million to help create affordable and supported rental housing for up to 3,000 homeless and vulnerable Calgarians.

The company is a fixture in our community and is committed to making the city a better place for everyone.

“Canadian Natural has a strong commitment to supporting the communities and organizations where we live and work,” said Steve Laut, president of Canadian Natural. “As a Calgary-based company, we are proud to be contributing to this unique collaboration between agencies, governments, and businesses that will enhance the support and services provided to meet the needs of vulnerable Calgarians.”

The gift comes at a time when RESOLVE has projects that are shovel-ready and urgently needed. Canadian Natural’s support is a fine example of leadership in making a tangible difference in the communities in which they work in. They are helping to ensure that vulnerable Calgarians will no longer have to worry about where they will sleep at night because they will have the stability and security of a place to call home.

Sheryl Barlage, Executive Director of RESOLVE, said that this gift provides even more momentum. “We are so thankful for the support from Canadian Natural. We hope that more members of the community will follow suit to help us get the rest of our projects in the ground.

There are still thousands of Calgarians without a safe place to sleep at night and, together, we can make Calgary a better home for everyone.”
